Kays Ruiz-Atil PSG Chelsea have identified Paris Saint-Germain youngster Kays Ruiz-Atil as a potential target for the summer, according to reports in France.
Thomas Tuchel is set to oversee his first summer transfer window in charge of Chelsea. It seems that he could look towards a familiar environment.
According to Foot Mercato, Tuchel wants PSG midfielder Ruiz-Atil to follow him to Stamford Bridge.
Tuchel gave Ruiz – Atil his senior debut in September. Since then, the midfielder has been on the sidelines of the first team.
Ruiz-Atil has seven senior appearances to his name this season, all when Tuchel was in charge. Since Mauricio Pochettino replaced the German as manager, Ruiz-Atit has fallen out of favour.
The 18-year-old player was demoted to the club’s U-19 team. It seems likely that he will leave PSG at the end of the season.
His contract expires in June, and if Pochettino has little confidence in him, he is unlikely to extend his contract. This will cause a battle for your services.
Thomas Tuchel will give Chelsea youngsters a chance
Chelsea is a long-time Ruiz-Atil fan, seeing him even before Tuchel was in charge. They had discussions about a possible move last summer.
The fact that his former manager is now at Stamford Bridge could prove even more tempting for the teenager.
Ruiz-Atil is free to negotiate a pre-contractual agreement with other clubs now. Therefore, Chelsea could initiate discussions if they strengthen their interest.
Tuchel tries a record contract
Ruiz-Atil is not the only player on Chelsea’s agenda for the summer transfer window.
The Blues have linked up with a slew of players since Tuchel took over, with Jan Oblak, from Atletico Madrid, one of the recent names to emerge as a target.
Chelsea have signed Edouard Mendy to replace Kepa Arrizabalaga as first choice goalkeeper this summer, but could be looking for a new upgrade.
Oblak would certainly be that, because he has established himself as one of the best goalkeepers in the world. But its high price may not put Chelsea off too much.
