Winter is coming and we can finally wear our most comfortable and warm sweaters, eat the seasonal dishes and enjoy dinners with friends and family (although this year they are probably virtual), but in addition to all these pros, this change of season brings with it a drier and colder environment, which makes our skin and hair dry.
If you finally have a little free time, but a limited budget, do not worry, because with this homemade hair mask, you will have an enviable Mane and as hydrated as if it were summer.
Homemade jojoba and coconut mask for dry hair
Jojoba oil is extracted from the fruit of an abundant and perennial plant that in harsh and desert climates, and yet, also produces a nut with many healing properties. It is this nut from the jojoba plant that can be turned into oil.
Jojoba oil is mild enough to use as a carrier oil to mix it with other essential oils, but you can also use it alone. Many people use jojoba oil as part of their skincare routine, as there is plenty of evidence to support the use of pure jojoba oil as a remedy for acne, dry skin and countless other skin conditions.
To make this mask you will need only 1 tablespoon of coconut oil and 1 teaspoon of jojoba oil. Simply mix the oils in a microwave-safe container, then heat for about 30 seconds and you’re ready to apply.
Massage the oil into the tips of your hair (as this is where the hair is usually most damaged) and go up to the roots. You can apply the treatment to dry or damp hair, but you may get better results by doing it on damp hair, after drying it with a towel.
Put on a bath cap to cover your hair and let it sit for at least 30 minutes to allow the oils to do their magic. Then wash your hair with shampoo, rinse the oils and condition as usual. You can use this home mask for dry hair 1-2 times a week.
