Man City beat Rival Clubs reaching a deal for Brazilian teenager compared to Neymar
Pep Guardiola’s Man of the city
Reports claim that Manchester City have beaten the competition for Fluminense’s kayak and are close to reaching a deal for the Brazilian star.
Premier League leaders have been monitoring South America for some time. But they are not the only club interested in the 17-year-old.
At the end of January, Liverpool was mentioned as a possible suitor. It was reported that discussions about a move to Anfield had already begun.
It is said that Reds star Roberto Firmino was the man behind the interest, while Shakhtar Donetsk was also enthusiastic. However, Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano suggests that the Citizens won the race to the front.
Sportsmail reported in January that the city hoped to sign with the Fluminense duo Kayky and Metinho. Money problems involved blocked the move, with a combined fee of £15m reportedly being offered for the pair.
The city is said to have offered €10m for Kayky, with add-ons bringing the deal to€17. And it looks like they’re about to catch their man.
The teenager was assigned to the youth of the northwest Giants if and when he arrives in Manchester. Kayky has yet to make a senior appearance for Fluminense.
But screening reports have been favorable, with the Brazilian Under-16 star being compared to his compatriot Neymar. Unsurprisingly, he has also been linked with several Spanish clubs, but City seem to have usurped them all.
